Birkshire is a full service custom home builder serving the Greater Toronto Area.
For more than forty years we have delivered custom home construction and renovations at the highest standard of design and craftsmanship. Our mission has not changed: realize our client's vision, and make the process a good experience rather than a stressful one.
Construction, custom cabinetry and millwork, and project management all sit under one roof. That means one point of accountability, one schedule, and one set of standards from excavation through final walkthrough.

Full service means we are accountable for all of it.
Most builders hand you off: one company frames it, another mills the cabinetry, a third tries to hold the schedule together. We do all three, so nothing falls between them.

Renovations & Additions
Whole home renovations and structural additions, including the hard parts: tying new framing into old, opening up load bearing walls, and keeping a family comfortable while the work happens around them.

Cabinetry & Millwork
Kitchens, vanities, libraries, dressing rooms and wine rooms built as cabinetry rather than bought as boxes. Drawn to the room, finished to match the house, installed by the people who made it.

Project Management
Trades, schedule, budget and inspections coordinated by the same people doing the building. You get one number to call, and a straight answer when you call it.

The best work is the part you never see.
Anyone can photograph a finished kitchen. What decides whether a house is still excellent in thirty years happens before the drywall goes on.
So we document every build at every stage. The foundation, the framing, the air seal and the radiant heat are the real product. The finishes are just the part you get to enjoy.

Birkshire has been building in and around Toronto for more than forty years. It is a family business, which means the name on the sign belongs to the people on the site.
That is not a sentimental detail. It is why the same standards carry from one project to the next, and why a client talks to the people actually responsible for their house rather than to an account manager.
We work from Newmarket and build throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
